Emergency Dental Care

If an emergency should arise, call our offices right away. If you are in extreme pain, visit the emergency room. However, if the emergency is minor, give us a call, apply pressure to bleeding areas, clean your mouth with salt water and use a cool compress to reduce swelling.

Preventative Dental Care

When you take care of your teeth, your visits to the dentist are a lot more fun for you and for us. At Healthy Smiles Huntsville, we believe in preventative, not reactive, dental care. We have a few tips and suggestions for how you can keep your smile as healthy as possible.

Prevent Tooth Decay

When you eat foods that are high in sugar, you are likely to develop tooth decay. The number one solution is to keep up a strict oral care routine: brush your teeth, floss and come in to see us for regular check-ups.

Put Up a Shield

When you use fluoride on a regular basis, it strengthens your teeth and makes them resistant to decay. Use a fluoride toothpaste and we will give you a fluoride treatment after we clean your teeth. Sealants are good options for people with soft teeth who already practice good oral hygiene. They protect vulnerable areas like the grooves and depressions that form in the chewing surfaces of the teeth in the back of your mouth.

Schedule An Appointment

The best preventative dental care and, an important step in the oral hygiene process, is visiting your dentist regularly. When you get your teeth cleaned, we can reach areas you miss and look out for potential problems. Schedule an appointment.

Cleaning Teeth at Home

You’ve been taking care of your teeth since you were young, but what if there is something you could be doing better? Ask our dentist or hygienist for a full run down of the cleaning process.

Brushing Your Teeth

We recommend brushing your teeth four times daily to remove food and plaque that builds up.

Flossing Your Teeth

Floss daily. If you bleed a bit when you first begin flossing, that is completely normal.
